2020 National skating month

 

National Skating Month takes place every January and February. It's a two month long campaign targeted towards youth and parents and typically features a fun theme that kids will like. Rinks and clubs across the country are sent packages containing promotional materials such as, posters, fliers, administrative manuals, stickers, photos props, bulletin board signage and more. For 2020, we revisited the nostalgia of Harry Potter with a magical world of wizardry themed National Skating Month.

This was a tricky undertaking. With just three weeks to complete, a limited budget and no access to costumes or props, I set up a photoshoot with three local kids. We improvised using a stick, bowl and mug to take the place of the magical objects they would eventually be holding. The rest was magic (AKA Photoshop).
